AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS) & Training

Hands-on AIRS training is delivered on a regular basis at the Defran Systems' Training Center. The Training Center can easily accommodate up to 10 users. Training is open to all staff members that use AIRS at agencies funded by the New York State Department of Health—AIDS Institute or those agencies that contract for training.

AIRS training in the following areas is available:

  • System Administration (System Management): 1 Day
  • Basic Data Entry: 1 Day
  • Basic Hands-On Lite: ½ Day
  • Advanced Data Entry (Basic Level 2): ½ Day
  • Billing (COBRA Case Management & Adult Day Health Care Services): 1 Day
  • Counseling and Testing: ½ Day
  • Reports: ½ Day

HOW TO RECEIVE AIRS TRAINING. AIRS training is normally offered between 3 and 5 times a month. An agency is allowed to request training for as many staff members as is necessary to efficiently manage their AIRS installation. To request training for any staff member, please e-mail ursinfo@defran.com or fax (212) 727-8639. On the request, please identify the following:

  • Name of each staff member requesting training
  • E-mail Address, Phone, and Fax number of each staff member
  • Class or classes requested by each staff member

If there is one person we can contact for all the submitted staff training requests, this person's e-mail, phone and fax numbers should also be included in your request.

All names are added to a waiting list. As class dates are set up, openings are offered on a first requested/first offered basis. Within a week of the actual class, the enrolled users will be faxed or e-mailed with a reminder letter. For more information, please contact us at (212) 727-8342, ext. 0.
